One emerging area of interest is testosterone levels and trauma response in first responders and military personnel. A longitudinal study of over 900 male soldiers found that pre-deployment testosterone levels were linked to later PTSD symptoms—suggesting that maintaining healthy hormone levels before trauma exposure may play a role in resilience post-deployment.
