I have been interested in writing to our patients for awhile now and I am excited to do so! With all the uncertainty in the world, our patients have been experiencing an increase in anxiety, depression, and insomnia. From school aged children to our seniors, stress levels are creeping up. Mindfulness and meditation have been scientifically proven to effectively help decrease feelings of being overwhelmed. Mindfulness makes you feel happier, reduces stress, improves memory, reduces pain, decreases insomnia, and lessens worry. I like to recommend this practice due to its simplicity. There are great smartphone applications that can make it fun, easy, and available! Try to take a few minutes daily and take a breather!
